Welfare Team

Oxfam is an independent organisation, registered as a charity, which is part of a global movement to build a just and safer world. There is no way to detail all the work that is currently underway but it can all be placed into three inter-linking areas:
. Saving lives by responding swiftly to provide aid, support and protection during emergencies
. Developing programmes and solutions that empower people to work their way out of poverty
. Campaigning to achieve lasting change
They are very well known for the work they do and have managed to build a community of volunteers who share the belief that poverty is an injustice which can be overcome and who care enough to want to do something about it.
Volunteering with Oxfam
Listed below are only some of the volunteer vacancies that exist within Oxfam. These can be approached as one off projects or, if you are a student looking for work over the summer, an internship is also an option. Please contact Carol Burns at welfare@bwgbangkok.com for further information
How you can help……
How would you like to make a difference on a global scale? This is a one off piece of work, with additional monitoring duties if you wish, which involves searching the internet in order to compile a list of training/courses and distance learning programs that are available online. The list you produce will then be used as Oxfam's 'Online Learning Catalogue' - you actually have the opportunity to design exactly what it will look like and how it will be used!! (Opportunities like this are few and far between). If you are looking for a project that you can really get your teeth into and that will benefit people all over the world then this is it!!
