British Women's Group History

The British Women's Group Bangkok was founded on 29th May 1969 to provide an organised way for British women to meet one another, on a regular basis, in Bangkok. The objective of the group, as established in the constitution in 1969, is to enable members to meet socially, to welcome new members and to establish a programme of social, cultural and welfare activities.

Lady Pritchard, the Ambassador's wife, graciously accepted the role of Honorary President and today, Mrs Alison Quayle continues that tradition as our Patron.

The BWG is run by a committee of active and willing vounteers - if you have some spare time why not join us? We are a friendly bunch and aim to have fun whilst working.

We organise many regular weekly and monthly social events and our support of Thai charities has expanded as BWG fundraising has broadened in scope to meet the changing demands placed upon it.

Thirty eight years down the road the British Women's Group is a continuing success story, thanks largely to the commitment and efforts of its members, both past and present. We have expanded from the 57 members in 1969 to over 200 today.
